SHINE THE SPOTLIGHT: UBI FRANKLIN

 

 

It’s a beautiful Monday and I’m sure you are excited about the new week just as we are, it’s not another week to try new ideas and make great progress. Mondays are not complete if we don’t celebrate men who are making great impacts and today is not an exemption as we celebrate the business mogul and boundaries breaker  Ubi Ekpapong Ofem popularly known as Ubi Franklin. He is an icon in the world of entrepreneurship and he is never scared of trying new business ideas.

CHILDHOOD AND GROWING UP

Franklin was born in Cross River State on 2 February 1984. He is the 11th of 15 children. He had his primary and secondary education in Calabar, after which he studied law at the Madonna University.

CAREER

Ubi Fanklin started as an assistant to Julius Agwu before going on to work with AY Makun and other artists. He then worked promoting shows.

 

In 2010, he became Iyanya’s manager before the song “kukere” was released, which became a hit. In 2014, when the label had expanded, other artists, including Tekno, Emma Nyra, and Selebobo were signed.

In May 2017, Franklin founded a company which provided a platform to fund business ideas and start-ups In July 2017, he launched Instant Pickup, an online service that offers instant home pickup and delivery of laundry. The brand grew further and in November 2017, he launched Instant Apartment, an online platform that offers luxury apartments for rent.

PERSONAL LIFE

Ubi is a father of two wonderful kids Jayden and Zaneta. He sure makes fatherhood look great and the way he adores his kids you can be sure he will do anything to make happy.

We shine the spotlight on this intellectual entrepreneur who will never give up, he keeps pushing hard and it’s not a surprise he is reaping the benefits of his hardwork.. He once admitted that from July 2016 to March 2017, he struggled to overcome bouts of depression which almost led him to commit suicide.He was almost killed by a Chinese man at a furniture store in Lagos, but by the quick intervention of his cousin, he was saved. The attacker was eventually arrested.

Ubi’s story is one of filled with ups and downs but today he is a success story. We celebrate you and we say it can only get better, thank you for being a big inspiration.
