Mondays are for the men and today we are definitely crushing on a talented and creative young man the team-lead for the creative department of Payporte, he goes by the name Abiodun Bada. Bada is my definition of strength, courage, passion and creativity, he has such an inspiring story that will definitely challenge you to do more. It was such an interesting interview though quick but inspiring. He spoke about his growth, challenges, inspiration and vision as an individual.
Enjoy the interview.
Onome: Mr. Bada how you doing today?
Bada: I’m fine thank you
Onome: tell us a little about yourself.
Bada: I am Abiodun Bada, a Creative designer, from Ogun state, I graduate of Tai Solarin University of Education Ogun state in 2011 where I studied Computer Science.
Onome: What makes you special as an individual?
Bada: I will say my strength and belief in who I am, I have come to a state of loving who I am and people say life is hard but for me I believe it’s all about your perspective. Yes life could be tough but I choose to see it from a different angle so I am really enjoying the ride.
Onome: Growing up as a child, what was your dream?
Bada: I wanted to be a cartoonist and a cinematographer, I pictured myself working for superstrikers even as a little boy.
Onome: That’s a good dream so why did you study computer science?
Bada: I didn’t really grow up with my parents so my dream was sort of discouraged, a lot of people felt it didn’t make sense and that I might never be rich doing that so I listened and gave up on that dream.
Onome: Oops! That’s a serious one but its fine you are still doing designs, it’s a win win. So tell me when you started designing
Bada: that would be 2009
Onome: why design?
Bada: like I said earlier, I enjoyed drawing so it was a natural love for me, I knew I was not going to be a programmer I mean I never enjoyed it, no offence but programming was like learning Spanish to me so I fell in love with designs when we learnt computer graphics and I just knew this was it. Design connects me to drawing so it was a natural love.
Onome: what is your vision as an individual?
Bada: I want to birth solutions, I want to bring out the creativity in every work I put my heart to, and I want my designs to speak a simple message which is uniqueness and beauty, I want my voice to be heard on every design I create and I see myself teaching people the beauty in the world of designs both locally and internationally.
Onome: When did you join PayPorte?
Bada: April 1st 2016
Onome: How has Payporte helped your growth as an individual and in your career?
Bada: it has been an amazing ride, I have seen myself consciously become a better person. PayPorte is a company that provides you with the resources to grow so it depends on how you choose to maximize those resources for your productivity. Working with PayPorte has groomed my career, it has sharpened my skills and I’ve been given resources that harnessed my growth. I will say I’m glad I chose to work with this organization.
Onome: what lessons has leadership taught you?
Bada: I will say I have an amazing team and everyone is willing to learn, being a team lead has just opened my eyes to the beauty and uniqueness in every member of my team so it is my job to help them become better and they have made the journey easier with their cooperation.
Onome: who are your role models?
Bada: George Bokhua and Aaron Draplin
Onome: What inspires you?
Bada that will be international standard designs, it spurs me to want to do more and create designs that will stand out.
Onome: what do you have to say to young ones who look up to men like you and want to make a great impact in the society.
Bada: You choose who you want to become, life will come at you but you need a lot of courage and strength to keep going, people would discourage you but you have to set your heart into your passion and that keeps you going. Creativity is beautiful it is a world where you can be yourself, your voice is on that design let it scream!
Onome: Mr. Bada it’s been wonderful interviewing you, thank you for your time and by the way you look good.
Bada: Thank you Onome, it’s a big honour.
