On the 28th of April, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, the Richest Woman in Africa stormed one of the Largest conference centers in the prestigious University of Ibadan to share her success story at a conference organized by Leadership and Excellence Centre, Nigeria hub. She spoke alongside a profound speaker and an Author Mr Niyi Adesanya on the topic “Maximizing Your Life”.
Mrs Alakija appeared elegant and radiant in a White Midi gown and Sandal Heels, she was welcomed with a standing ovation from the hundreds of youths present in the hall. The hall was full to its capacity and a good number of people were outside the hall wanting to grace her presence at this point I wondered what made this woman so special but upon listening to her I discovered she was worth spending all day with, her knowledge and depth of wisdom is simply amazing.
Many of the attendees were astonished when Mrs Alakija started her speech with “Praise the Lord” making some of us doubt if it was truly a leadership conference or a church program. As she began her speech, she made us understand her earlier statement and told the audience that Putting God’s first is one of the secrets to where and who she is now. She further explained that the responsibility of how you turn depends solely on you as an individual.
- Make God your number one priority
- Develop a picture of what you want to achieve and who you want to be
- Never stop learning
- Consistently stay focused towards your Goal and Mission
- Build strong Alliances.
- Enjoy your life
- Support Charity and causes that will help others
- On a final note, she went ahead and gave the already inspired audience a full meaning of the word and acronym “SUCCESS”
S – Seek God
U – Utilize your time and Talent properly
C – Credibility and Reliability
C – Consistently remain focused on your goal
E – Educate yourself
S – Say no to nah sayers and distractions
S – Sacrifice on a daily basis
It was truly an awesome time with Mrs Folorunsho Alakija. Seeing the richest woman in Africa was the highlight for some of the youths present especially the Ladies. I concur that she is indeed a great role model to many
