Black Panther keeps breaking records since its release in February, the movie is barely two months and it has not stopped breaking records. The movie has officially surpassed Titanic as the third-highest grossing film of all time in North America as of Saturday.
The film earned $659.3 million as of Friday, coming to break Titanic’s record of $659.5 million, It now ranks behind star Wars: The Force Awakens ($936.7 million) and Avatar ($760.5 million). To be fair, none of the totals have been adjusted with inflation in mind, and Titanic was released in 1997.
Black Panther has already entered the top ten globally, currently ranked at number 10 with $1.29 billion in total worldwide earnings. Seeing that the film is still in theatres, it should continue to rake in profits for the next little while.
If you have not seen Black Panther you really should because the movie is here to stay. I’m not sure we will be cured of the wakanda fever anytime soon and the good news is that we are enjoying the fever!
